2008 Run For Your Life GPx Presented by Asics and Lowes Foods RULES AND FAQ'S
What is the 2008 Run For Your Life GPx Series Presented by Asics and Lowes Foods? And why is the name so long?
These are the best nine “short races” – 5Ks to 15K – in the Carolinas! If you are going to participate in an event this year, be sure it is part of the Run For Your Life GPx Series!
Why? Here is our commitment to you:
The reason the name is so long is you! We want to bring you more value to your running experience and so do more of our corporate partners like Asics and Lowes Foods.
Grand Prix Scoring and Rules Changes
Every finisher earns points regardless of their time or place! This means you can have competitions within your office, neighborhood, or with a friendly (or not-so-friendly) rival. The men's and women's winners will each earn 1,000 points (no separate overall and age group scoring). Your score will be determined by dividing your time into the winner's time and multiplying by 1000.
For example, the winner of the 5K runs 15:00 and you run 24:00.
15.0/24.0 = .625 x 1,000 points = 625
You would receive 625 points in this example.
You must run 5 of the 9 events to receive an award and the top 7 or 8 scores will count - only one double points or two single point scores will be thrown out.
Prize money and sponsorships will be offered as follows:
*In addition the Top 3 Overall finishers will receive an additional $500 Sponsored Athlete Award Package. Let Run For Your Life hook you up with the best technical running gear around as you represent the best technical running store in the Southeast!
