Beneficiaries

Greenways are natural area corridors along our creeks and streams that provide
multiple benefits, including habitat protection, flood protection and trail
opportunities. Greenway trails offer convenient, safe and accessible
opportunities for recreation and fitness. They also serve as an alternate
transportation option to nearby destinations including neighborhoods, parks and
schools. There are currently over 30 miles of greenway trail constructed
along 14 overland and stream corridors. The greenway corridor system has
also protected more than 3,000 acres of floodplan habitat. The updated
greenway master plan calls for an additional 42 miles of trail to be constructed
over the next five years.
University City

As the largest not-for-profit social service organization in the area, the
University City YMCA is committed to enriching the lives of local children and
families. By offering financial assistance for YMCA programs and services,
the University City YMCA provides safe, affordable children's and wellness
programs, youth sports, swimming lessons and other opportunities to
community members who could not otherwise afford to participate. In 2007,
the University City YMCA's level of financial assistance reached nearly
$700,000. By supporting events such as the King Tiger 5K at University
City, you are helping to achieve the YMCA's 2008 Annual Community Outreach
efforts to help make University City a better place to live, work and play.
