Beneficiaries

Greenways are natural area corridors along our creeks and streams that provide multiple benefits, including habitat protection, flood protection and trail opportunities.  Greenway trails offer convenient, safe and accessible opportunities for recreation and fitness.  They also serve as an alternate transportation option to nearby destinations including neighborhoods, parks and schools.  There are currently over 30 miles of greenway trail constructed along 14 overland and stream corridors.  The greenway corridor system has also protected more than 3,000 acres of floodplan habitat.  The updated greenway master plan calls for an additional 42 miles of trail to be constructed over the next five years.
