More Event Information

The King Tiger 5K has partnered with Virtual Race Bags to produce a 'virtual goodie bag' in an effort to ‘go green’ and provide additional benefits to our participants. As a participant of this year's event you will receive an email invitation to the Virtual Race Bag prior to the event giving you access to the bag.

In the race bag you will find an array of valuable information including our official event guide, exclusive offers, coupons, giveaways, and messages from our sponsors.

But wait, there’s more! Immediately after the event, the race bag updates to include race results. Now participants will receive another email invitation to visit their ‘results bag’ and also have a final opportunity to take advantage of the offers and goodies before the bag closes. So watch for the Virtual Race Bag and Get Your Green On!

Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation: Greenways are natural area corridors along our creeks and streams that provide multiple benefits – including habitat protection, flood protection and trail opportunities. Greenway trails offer convenient, safe, and accessible opportunities for recreation and fitness. There are currently over 30 miles of greenway trail constructed along 14 overlands and stream corridors. The greenway corridor system has also protected more than 3,000 acres of floodplain habitat. The updated greenway master plan calls for an additional 42 miles of trail to be constructed over the next five years.

University City YMCA: The YMCA of Greater Charlotte builds strong communities by increasing accessibility, inspiring healthy living and improving literacy. We live out our mission to serve all by providing financial assistance, currently needed by 11/4% of our membership. Our YMCA reaches 280,680 people through membership, program participation, volunteerism, and philanthropy. In 2001, the University City YMCA alone gave $110,000 in scholarships that provided children, individuals and families in need the opportunity to participate in sports leagues, swim lessons, Afterschool, Preschool, Summer Camp, Middle School Matters and Teens Leadership Development. By supporting events such as the King Tiger 5K at University City, you are helping us build strong communities through the University City YMCA2011 Community Outreach campaign.
